I Go Humble…
A Live Interactive Art Experiment
by Stefani Byrd + Wes Eastin
Monday, March 21st, 9 am – 6 pm
One Day Interactive Video Installation
At the Corner of Edgewood Ave SE and Park Place SE (becomes Pryor St SE)
Atlanta, GA This interactive video installation uses humor to address the serious subject of street harassment. Four video screens—two women and two gay men—observe the passing crowd and catcall the men, thus reversing the typically male behavior. In their current work, Byrd and Eastin focus on “empathy training,” where audiences are put on the receiving end of playfully staged inappropriate behavior such as teasing and cat calling. The seriousness of the subject matter is masked by the humor that the situation is intended to create. Sponsored by D.A.E.L. (Digital Arts & Entertainment Lab) at Georgia State University & Flux Projects Special Thanks to Relapse Theater and their Improv Team
Improv Actor Bios
Troy Halverson has called Atlanta home for over 25 years, where he has performed in hundreds of improv comedy shows, dozens of plays, and a handful of locally-produced indie films. When not doing that, or cat-calling strangers, he manages projects for a marketing agency.
Alyson West is an actor and improviser in Atlanta. She is currently working on several forensic roles and has appeared in previous Flux projects.
Jillian Fratkin has been an actor, improviser, writer, producer, and teacher in Atlanta since 2006. She’s excited to be working with Stefani and Wes for Flux Projects.
Stan Fong is an endangered panda bear in Atlanta. He does not do nails.
